Zentralalpenweg Day 5 (25.6km)

We got the train back to our previous ending point in Müllendorf and set off through vineyards and fields towards the hills in the hazy distance. The countryside was pleasant enough but never far enough away from busy roads and motorways to feel and sound remote. It's incredible to think that all these large express roads have been built since we have lived in Austria, and are permanently busy. I constantly wonder where the heck all these people are going and what they did before the road was there.

Our path was often on tarred roads today, replete with the usual Red Bull and beer cans strewn along the verges. The one pleasant aspect was seeing the Schneeberg constantly in the distance.

We decided we would celebrate every 100km. Today took us to 100km so the bottle is now in the fridge!
