Revived the Blog
After just over a year being retired, without any desire to keep up with developments in programming or to keep up my IT skills, I decided I needed a blog just for myself as a diary. I suppose I could use FB for that, but, no.
I had tried out Ghost a few years ago with one of the beta versions and liked the simplicity of it (apart from the setup). Upgrading my ancient version didn't seem like an option and paying monthly for the hosted version not worth if for my level of usage. Luckily this chap has a version ready for deploying to Microsoft's Azure platform for which I have a free subscription, and which he promises to keep up-to-date with the latest version of Ghost.
I didn't imagine for one minute that clicking the blue "Deploy to Azure" button would actually work, but amazingly I had this up and running in less than 5 minutes - thanks Radoslav Gatev! Hopefully upgrading the site over the next few years will be as simple.
I added the one previous post I had created 2 years ago, manually via copy/paste and now intend to add content from this first year of freedom and hopefully keep it up in the future so that in my dottering old age I can look back and see how I wasted all that free time.
